WiFi Files Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 2, 2026

Product: WiFi Files (bundle ID: io.awakendragon.wifishare)

Distribution: The app is currently intended for distribution outside mainland China via channels such as the Apple App Store and Google Play. It is not presently listed on app stores in mainland China. If we expand to new regions, we will update this policy as required.

This English version is provided for international store listings and overseas users. Please have qualified counsel review before formal release. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional statutory rights.

1. Introduction

1.1 WiFi Files (the “App”) is provided by the developer / operator (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information related to the App and how you may exercise your rights.

1.2 Core model: The App primarily processes files and personal data on your device and on the local network you deliberately enable. We do not provide our own content cloud for long-term hosting of your contacts, photos, SMS, or sandbox files.

1.3 For analytics, crash diagnostics, and in-app purchases, we use third-party services such as Apple / Google, Firebase, and RevenueCat, as described below. Those services may process data outside your country / region.

2. Information We Process

We do not intentionally collect information not described below.

2.1 Information processed mainly on device

2.2 Information processed via third parties

Category Purpose Processors (examples)

Crash logs, device model, OS version, stack traces Stability diagnostics Google Firebase Crashlytics
Purchase receipts, anonymous app user IDs, entitlement status Validate and restore purchases Apple / Google and RevenueCat

These processors may handle data in the United States or other countries. Using related features means you understand that data may be transferred across borders and is also subject to their privacy policies. See:

2.3 What we do not actively do

3. Permissions

Permission Purpose
Local network / nearby Wi‑Fi Device discovery, file server, and migration
Location (some Android versions) Read Wi‑Fi LAN addresses (not continuous tracking of your whereabouts)
Photos / media Similar photos, photo migration, saving images
Contacts Contact migration
SMS (Android) SMS migration
Camera Scan QR codes
Storage (older Android) Access media according to OS version

Permissions are requested as needed and can be turned off in system settings.

4. Purposes of Use

We use related information only to:

  1. Provide file sharing, migration, similar photos, QR scanning, and related features;
  2. Complete purchase validation, credit deduction, and entitlement restore;
  3. Analyze usage and diagnose crashes to improve the product;
  4. Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests;
  5. Other purposes after obtaining your valid consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. LAN Visibility to Others

5.1 File sharing: After the HTTP server starts, LAN users with the address and PIN (or a tokenized link / QR code) may browse or transfer sandbox files. Use trusted networks and stop the service when finished.

5.2 Migration: Selected data is transferred over the LAN between sender and receiver. Confirm that the peer device is trusted.

5.3 QR codes: Migration QR codes may include IP, port, and PIN; anyone who can scan the code may attempt to connect.

5.4 The web management page runs on your device; its copy follows the App language setting.

6. Retention

6.1 Local business data is retained until you delete it, uninstall the App, or clear app data.

6.2 Retention by Firebase, RevenueCat, and the app stores follows their policies and our console configuration.

6.3 We do not keep long-term copies of your contacts, photos, SMS, or sandbox file contents in our own business databases.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

7.1 To provide the Service, we may disclose necessary information to processors such as Apple / Google (distribution and payment), RevenueCat (purchase entitlements), and Google Firebase (analytics and crashes).

7.2 We may disclose information when required by law or lawful process.

7.3 In a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, related information may be transferred; we will require the successor to continue protection or obtain authorization as required by law.

8. International Transfers

Because we use Firebase, RevenueCat, and global app-store infrastructure, related data may be transferred to and stored outside your country / region. Where reasonable, we rely on processors’ contractual terms, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other lawful transfer mechanisms as actually used by those parties.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or a higher age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information for marketing. If a parent or guardian believes a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can delete it where it is within our control.

10. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law where you live (for example access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability in the EEA/UK; know, delete, and opt out of sale / share in California and similar laws — we do not sell personal information), you may have corresponding rights.

You can usually:

  1. View or delete task records, sandbox files, and similar data in the App;
  2. Revoke permissions in system settings;
  3. Uninstall and clear app data;
  4. Limit analytics identifiers via system or store settings;
  5. Contact Apple / Google about store purchase issues.

To make a request about data we control, email us using the address below. After verifying your identity, we will respond within the period required by applicable law (we aim to reply within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires).

If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect local storage and transfers (for example PIN / token auth, secure credit storage, and least-necessary permissions). No network environment is perfectly secure; please also protect your device and PINs.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this policy and publish changes via in-app “About”, this privacy policy page, or store metadata, with an updated effective date. For material changes, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent as required by law.

13. Contact Us

(If an EU / UK representative or DPO is appointed, we will add that information here.)

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 This Privacy Policy applies together with the Terms of Use. For personal-information matters, this Privacy Policy controls.

14.2 Language: A Chinese edition is also available. For international store listings and overseas users, the English version prevails, except where local law requires otherwise. If only one language edition exists, that edition controls.
